Game Overview
Vegetable Poker is a poker-style card game in which players harvest vegetables buried in a field to form poker hands.
However, the animals living in the field may eat your collected vegetables, so you must be careful not to let your combinations get destroyed!
This game features a unique mechanic where the suits (vegetable types) of cards can be identified from the back and animals can interfere with players’ vegetable collections.
Balance protecting your harvest and building the strongest hand to win!
Component

・Vegetable Cards:25 cards(5 color, each 5 cards)
「Potato」「Carrot」「Turnip」「Radish」「Sweet Potato」

・Animal Cards:5 cards
「Boar」「Rabbit」「Monkey」「Deer」「Raccoon dog」

・Summary Card:1 card

・Start Player Card:1 card
Setup
When playing with 3 players, remove certain cards from the game.
Remove the 5 “Sweet Potato” Vegetable Cards and the “Raccoon Dog” Animal Card.

①Shuffle the Vegetable Cards face down and place 6 cards on the table, arranged in 2 rows and 3 columns.
②Place the remaining Vegetable Cards face down on the table to form a deck.
③Shuffle the Animal Cards face down and deal 1 card to each player.
Check your Animal Card without showing it to the other players.
(You may look at your own Animal Card at any time.)
④Place the remaining 1 Animal Card face down next to the deck.
How to Play
The player who most recently grew vegetables becomes the start player.
If this cannot be determined, choose a start player by any method you like.
The start player takes the Start Player card and play proceeds clockwise from the start player.
On your turn, perform the following steps in order:
1.Harvest
2.Plant
1.Harvest

Choose and gain 1 card using the following procedure:
・Choose 1 of the 4 Vegetable Cards located at the top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right of the grid
(one of the cards highlighted in red in the diagram above) and look at it privately.
・Place the chosen card face up in your play area.
If you already have cards in your play area, place it to the right of your existing cards.
・Once per round, you may place a card face down instead.
※This can be useful if you do not want other players to know its number.
If you place a card with an Animal icon (1 or 5) face up, you must exchange your Animal Card with another player’s Animal Card or the Animal Card in the center of the table.
2.Plant
Draw 1 card from the deck and look at it privately.
Then place the drawn card face down in any position in the same row as the card you gained during Harvest.

Example:
The card drawn from the deck is a “Radish.”
The active player looks at the face of the “Radish” card privately,
then places it face down in the top row.
The card may be placed in any one of the following three ways:
End of the Round/Scoring
The round ends after all players have taken 5 turns.
When the round ends, turn all Animal Cards and Vegetable Cards in your play area face up.
Check which vegetables your Animal prefers, then turn all cards of those vegetables face down.
Choose 3 of your remaining face-up Vegetable Cards and score points according to the Hand Ranking table.
| Hand Name | Description | Points | 例 |
| Three cards | Three cards with the same number | 5 points | ![]() |
| Straight Flush | Three cards in sequence of the same color | 4 points | ![]() |
| Flush | Three cards of the same color | 3 points | ![]() |
| Straight | Three cards in sequence | 2 points | ![]() |
| One Pair | Two cards with the same number | 1 point | ![]() |
| No Hand | Any other combination | 0 points | ![]() |
In addition, players score placement points.
Players are ranked in order from the player who formed the strongest hand.
If multiple players have hands of equal strength, the start player ranks highest, followed by players in clockwise order.
1st place: 2 points / 2nd place: 1 point / 3rd place and lower: 0 points
Add your hand points and placement points together, and record the total.
After that, set up the game again, and pass the Start Player card to the player on the left. Then begin the next round.
End of the Game
The game ends after a number of rounds equal to the number of players.
Add up each player’s scores from all rounds. The player with the highest total score wins the game.
If there is a tie, the player who scored the most points in the final round wins.
If there is still a tie, the tied players share the victory.
Q&A
Q: At the end of a round, I only have two face-up cards remaining, and they have the same number. Does this count as a One Pair?
A: Yes. Score it as a One Pair and gain the corresponding points.
Strategy Tips
・You may place a card face down once per round. If you are wondering when the best time to do this is, please take a look at the tips below.
There are two key tips for when to place a card face down. You should consider doing so at either of these moments.
First, place a card face down to prevent other players from knowing which hand you are building.
By hiding the number, you make it harder for your opponents to determine which hand you are aiming for.
Second, place a card face down to prevent other players from deducing the numbers of the Vegetable Cards in the field.
As the game progresses, more Vegetable Cards are displayed face up in each player’s area.
This allows players to narrow down the possible numbers of the cards remaining in the field.
If you place the card you just gained face up, it may cause the exact numbers of the field cards to become obvious.
By placing the card face down at such a moment, only you will know the numbers of the Vegetable Cards in the field, while the other players will still be unable to determine them.
・If you’re wondering when you should try to exchange Animal Cards, please take a look at the tips below.
There are also two key tips for exchanging Animal Cards.
First, look at your own Animal Card.
If you already have vegetables that your Animal prefers, you can aim to exchange it to drive that Animal away from your area.
Second, pay attention to the vegetables your opponents are collecting.
You can force an Animal onto another player by exchanging cards.
If an opponent has completed a high-scoring hand, try exchanging an Animal that corresponds to the vegetables involved in that hand in order to disrupt it.
