About the Dungeon Cards

Game Setup

1. Determine the First Player

Decide who goes first by playing rock-paper-scissors or another method.

2. Prepare the Deck

Randomly mix the front and back sides of the Dungeon Cards.

Then shuffle them to create a face-down deck.

3. Prepare the Play Area

Place the top card of the deck in the play area and flip it over.

4. Choose Your Team Color

The first player chooses to play as either the Red Heroes or the Blue Heroes.

It is a good idea to check the card in the play area and the top card of the deck before making your choice.

The other player takes the remaining color.

5. Place the Summary Card

Place the Summary Card so that your team’s color is facing you.

Game Overview

Players take turns, starting with the first player.
On your turn, follow these steps:

1. Draw 1 card from the deck.
2. Choose One of the Following Actions

A. Place the Card as It Is

B. Flip the Card and Place It

Important:
You cannot look at the reverse side of a card you have drawn.
Once you flip a card over, you cannot turn it back to its original side.

3. End Your Turn

Players continue taking turns until the deck is empty.
Each player takes 7 turns, and then the game ends.

Card Placement Rules

Place cards in the play area while following the rules shown in the illustrations.

Scoring

Score each completed Area of the dungeon separately.
An Area is a group of paths that are connected to each other.

Resolve each Area in the following order:

1. Determine Whether the Monsters Are Defeated

Add together the HP of all monsters in the Area.
Then add together the total Attack Power of both the Red and Blue Hero Teams in that Area.

If the total Attack Power of the Hero Teams is equal to or greater than the monsters’ total HP, the monsters are defeated.
If the monsters are not defeated, no points are awarded for them.

2. Award Points for Defeated Monsters

If there is only 1 monster:

Calculate the total Attack Power of each Hero Team separately.
The player with the higher Attack Power earns the points for that monster.
If both players have the same Attack Power, neither player earns the points.

If there are 2 or more monsters:

Starting with the Hero Team with the higher Attack Power, players take turns claiming monsters in descending order of their point values, one monster at a time.

If only one Hero Team defeats multiple monsters in an Area, that team claims all of their points.
If the Red and Blue Hero Teams have equal Attack Power, no monster points are awarded.

3. Award Treasure Chest Points

Each player may claim up to 1 Treasure Chest per Thief in their team within each Area.
Players earn points based on the total number of Treasure Chests they collect across all Areas.

Notes:

  • Count the number of Treasure Chests collected by each team separately.
  • Both teams can claim the same Treasure Chest.
  • Treasure Chests can still be collected even if the monsters are not defeated.

End of the game

The game ends when the deck runs out of cards.
The player with the highest total score across all Areas wins.
In case of a tie, the first player wins.

Optional Rules

You can also play two games, switching the first player for the second game.
The winner is the player with the highest combined score from both games.

Solo Play

When playing solo, you control both the Red and Blue Hero Teams.
Game setup and card placement follow the standard rules.
The game ends after 14 turns, when the deck runs out.
Calculate the scores for the Red and Blue Hero Teams separately, using the standard scoring rules.

During the game, keep track of each team’s score as you play.

Scoring

Your final score is the lower of the two scores earned by the Red and Blue Hero Teams.

Try to make both teams work together effectively and aim for the highest possible score!
